The Los Angeles Community College District Dance Discipline’s 21st Annual Consortium is fast upon us. I apologize for the late invitation for planning purposes, but the late date of the event may also allow more schools to send a piece or two, due to concert season. Here at ELAC, our dance company is ready, willing, and able to perform a well-rounded, intense series of pieces from choreographer Kimberly Brown for anyone interested in watching. Most likely your school is ready to “step out” too. We’ve moved into our new performance space, the S2 Building Recital Hall on the corner of Cesar Chavez and Collegian Avenues. Inviting everyone here to see the building, our studios and performances spaces is very exciting. So, we are here waiting for all of the other 8 or so District Colleges, and any other greater Los Angeles/Southern California area colleges to come here for our one night event to show-off what’s being developed elsewhere. We all know it’s a wonderful way for our students to perform and to see their peers perform in a supportive and positive environment, as well as the perfect situation for rehearsing those new pieces for our upcoming Spring concerts. So, pile in the cars, come early for a small bite to eat right across the street before the show. Bring your entire entourage. There is plenty of space in our studios, on the Stage and in the House for up to 326 people! |
